It’s that time of year again… when every Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is tense, on edge and obsessively looking out the front window for Mr. Brown.. or the mailman.  Surreptitiously opening the front door a bit to see if we may have missed the UPS truck somehow and maybe the box is there….  only to see an empty porch, dashing our hopes yet again. 

Yes, it’s that time again… the new Stampin’ UP! Catalog comes out every July, filled with new stamps and accessories.  Stampin’ Addicts live for this moment.  It is exciting and frustrating at the same time.  Starting this year, we’ll be going through this twice a year!  How great is that???

Last Friday, one lucky demo in La Mirada, CA announced to the Splitcoast members that she had received her new catalog!  This naturally caused great interest and pandemonium on the message board. She even got her own Question/Answer forum!  She kindly answered all the questions thrown at her rapid fire, even though I’m sure all she really wanted to do was go hide in her closet and look at the catty quietly!  Of course, it had to be a fluke that she received her catalog so early… only a few more people got their catalogs the next day and the Monday after.   

So, after hearing the news she got her catalog, the next day I’m casually loitering in the kitchen, coincidentally around the time the mailman comes.  Keith is there with me and after hearing my account of the excitement going on with the SCS message board, he alerts me to the mailman.  I run to the door and he hands me a stack of BILLS.  Whatever.  I knew I was asking too much for it to come as early as the 23rd!  A few minutes later, Keith mentions that the mailman was coming back up our walk!!!  OH MY WORD!!!!  YESSSSS!!!   HE WAS COMING BACK WITH MY CATALOG!! OHH HAPPY DAY!!!

Not.  He forgot to deliver a stupid magazine.  I know he’s toying with me.  He’s been a mailman long enough to know what the end of June means.  I’m sure of it.  I think it’s a Postal Conspiracy aimed at driving the Stampin’ ladies insane…  He may get a “u suck” card soon… :D

Since I’m waiting, I may as well stamp.  If you are one of my customers, expect to see one of these in your mailbox this week… your invitation to my New Catalog Open House on Saturday July 14.  The catalogs are sure to be here by then… unless my mailman hears about his “u suck” card….

These invitations were made with the New In Colors… Soft Sky, Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi and our old standby, Chocolate Chip.  The pearl isn’t Stampin’Up! however, they are introducing an accessories line called “Pretties”…  which includes hatpins, flat backed pearls and more stuff you’ll just have to wait and see at the Catty Party!  :D  The stamp set is Baroque Motifs and there will be designer paper that coordinates with this set as well. The “You’re Invited” stamp comes from Hugs & Wishes set.  Seriously.  You will not want to miss out on the open house!

Yippee!!  New stamp sets from Stampin’ UP!  Long time waiting… and only 3 more weeks until the whole new catalog is available!  The following cards are cased from wonderful SCS gals… except for the first one here: 

Vases in Vogue Hostess Set,  Wild Wasabi and Groovy Guava- the new In Color cardstock colors, and Certainly Celery Palette O’ Prints.  Black Stazon, Wild Wasabi ink and Blush Blossom to color the flowers (I didn’t order all the new In Colors yet – silly me).  I used the slit punch again to make the scalloped edge and the ribbon on top is an unk brand.

This is Baroque Motifs, my new favorite set.  Base is Close to Cocoa, the front panel is Groovy Guava with Close to Cocoa stamped on it.  The Birthday greeting is from the new set Hugs & Wishes and is also stamped with Close to Cocoa on Very Vanilla.  Brown grosgrain ribbon and a prima w/some Earth Elements beads in the center finish it off.

Next, we have another Vases in Vogue card… this one CASED from dssmith2543 on SCS (her version here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/577202 

This was done on Soft Sky for the base.  Linen background was stamped in Soft Sky ink on the base.  The image was stamped on Shimmer White with Blk Stazon and colored with Soft Sky, Buckaroo Blue and Rose Red, then matted onto Purely Pomegranate and then Blue Bayou.  The New In Colors don’t look so great in the preview brochure, so I only ordered a combo pack to see all the colors.  They are actually GORGEOUS!  I highly recommend them!  The sentiment in the front came with the hostess set and the Birthday greeting is from Hugs & Wishes.

Instead of the Purely Pomegranate she used, I went with Soft Sky and Whisper White.  VERY Simple card to do, but it looks elegant!  Sentiments are from Holidays & Wishes set-another new one!  The new sentiments coming out seem to be much more modern and sleek- not so cartoony.  And you can get them for under $20 compared to the expensive sets from years past.  Yippee!!

 So this was my day today- fun!!!
