I see that during my 4 days of non-posting neglect of my blog (hey, i got the new catty for cryin’ out loud!!! :D), my blog went over 1000 hits!! HOW KEWL IS THAT??? Thank you for visiting me and making me feel like i have some friends!
So… I’ve been burying my nose in my new Stampin’ Up! 2007 Fall/Winter collection… my wish list is up to $500. I am SOOO IN LOVE with the accessories this time around- the tons of designer papers, ribbons, the Pretties kit…. oh my werd!
Last week, to keep occupied while waiting for the new catalog and trying not to read all the posts about it on SCS, I went through my studio and purged about 60 stamp sets from my collection. I also packaged up my retired papers that I no longer felt compelled to keep, as well as my scraps. I also popped out ALL THE TAGS from several packages of Tag Sheets… why you ask? Because it’s all going to be a part of my New Catalog Party!
I made “Card Candy” – ribbon scraps, punched designer series papers from many different punches, tags from the tag sheets, pockets and pieces from those kits, small packages of eyelets, beads and buttons… put them all in little cello bags, tied them with grosgrain and VIOLA’! These will be door prizes for my guests at my Open House for the new Catalog. I also have some raffle prizes too… but those are secret!
Not sure about you, but the way the Tag Sheets are, it’s very hard to keep them intact as a 12×12 sheet of cardstock. I never use them because it’s a hassle to get them in and out of the sleeve I keep them in (from the Container Store). I decided it would be best to just spend an evening punching them all out and putting them all together. Then I realized… hmmm… this is a great Tag Salad – so what didn’t get into the little cello bags for door prizes will go into a large salad bowl and my guests can “dish up”.
After deciding to not “demo” anymore, there were a ton of stamp sets that I felt should have a better home. Saturday I’m having a driveway sale… whatever sets my customers don’t claim, I’ll sell. I hope to make enough to cover that ever expanding wish list of mine!!!
I’ll post some pics tomorrow- i hope to play in the SCS challenge (going thru withdrawls… it’s been over a week!) and I have pics of all the goodies for the party, as well as the driveway sale… and what I’m doing to package up and sell my handmade cards!!!
