My first original creation with the NEW CATALOG GOODIES! I have been casing casing casing the supreme SCS ladies, including but not limited to, JanTink, JeanneS and StarofMay… and some other less famous but incredibly talented ladies as well… Oh, i also cased Beate’s lady bug/Stem Sayings card for my display board. Prepping for my Open House tomorrow and I’d like a lot of samples out to get the ladies all giddy and silly. I’ll take a picture of my display tomorrow when it’s light out (it’s 1am now).
THIS SET (Here, Kitty Kitty) makes me laugh. The sentiment is something that my husband and i have done in the past with any of our birthday cards… we find funny dog and cat cards, and of course, they’re from the respective pets. One of my favorite cards from Keith was a valentine from the Dog. You may have seen this one… cartoon dog on the front, speech bubble above him reciting this poem… “Roses are Red, Violets are Blue….” and you open it up and inside it says ”I like to drink from the toilet”!!! Ohh.. this card made me SWOON! Actually, we laughed until we cried…
So obviously, there are others out there like us…. hence the creation of this set. Anyway… i digress… Everything about this card is Stampin’ Up! The base is Blue Bayou, the mat is River Rock, the Kitty was stamped with Brown stazon on Very Vanilla. The ribbon is Blue Bayou double stitched ribbon, the tag was created with the Tag Corner Punch – now, i like this punch better than the tag punch!! You can make your tags as wide or as narrow as you like. Finally, there’s a Jumbo Brad (pewter) on the tag. I kept the tag in place with a dimensional. The Kitty (I think i’ll name him Harvey) is watercolored in Blue Bayou and i drew some Close to Cocoa on his stripes. The hat is River Rock and Blue Bayou as well.
I just want to mention a silly thing. We now have textured cardstock in all the colors available in a 12×12 assorted pack and i FORGOT to use them for the card bases. All these years, for personal use, i’ve been using Bazzill for card bases because of the wonderful texture… and now finally i can “legally” use it… and i forget??
