My dear, sweet, kind, wonderful friend KIM celebrates a birthday on the 8th… along with her dear, sweet, kind, wonderful daughter! Kim is a cruise-aholic. She and her husband and a few other friends go on Caribbean cruises every year. She loves shopping for jewelry in Martinique. She also is what she calls a “collector” of Stampin’ Up! products. She was a member of my hostess club… and buys somewhat regularly even though she’s “on a budget”… but she never uses it! She admits to me her desk is littered with bags of unopened product! SACRILEGE!
Since I want to get her using her toys, I have crafted her a birthday gift and card… both very easy to do and at least I know she’s got a photo album to show off her cruise pics immediately, instead of just being added to her desk and waiting to be scrapbooked… heh heh.
The photo album is from the Container Store and holds 4×6 photos in sleeves. I covered it with some Wild Asparagus cardstock, using matte Modge Podge. I re-punched holes for the spiral ring with a 1/8th punch. The yellow flower is from the dollar store, the chipboard “C” is Rusty Pickle, painted with MakingMemories bright green paint. The “ruise 2007″ is stamped on the flip side of the WA paper with Whimsical Alpha lower by Stampin’ UP! in Cameo Coral. Miscellaneous ribbon and the whole thing adhered and sealed with the matte Modge Podge. The card is a strip of Textured Old Olive, cut into 3.5″x10.5″ and scored at 3.25″ from each edge. The diagonal fold is also scored. Inside, there is a square in the center, Cameo Coral, and then Whisper White on top- with Dare to be Fabulous stamped on it- in CC. I used the 5-petal punch, the Spring Bouquet punch and an Old Olive brad to finish it off. The sentiment is stamped, then punched out with the Word Window punch and the sentiment is from Amuse Art Stamps.
