Okay, so I actually remembered to bring my camera into the lab today. I needed to make 10 swap cards for a local demo swap. I won’t tell you how many false starts I had…. but this is the final result!
Now, masking isn’t all that difficult. But just in case a new stamper hits my blog, I am quite happy to provide a beginner level technique. For this card, I stamped the tree with black stazon several times along a strip of Whisper White cardstock. For the mask, I stamped the tree again on a scrap of WW. I cut that closely to the outer lines of the image.
Using some painters tape, I lightly affixed it over the main image.
Then I stamped the Snowflakes from the Merry & Bright set in Soft Sky over the mask and on the sides of the mask.
Carefully lift the mask off. You will now have an image surrounded by another without affecting the main image.
To finish the tag, I used markers – Old Olive, Certainly Celery and Ruby Red.
Using the tag punch, I punched out the tree and snowflake images.
Oops- I missed one photo- I adhered the tags to Textured Soft Sky cardstock and cut around them to create a border. Then, using the rectangle punch, I punched a hole at the top of the tag, and threaded Soft Sky double stitched ribbon through it. To finish it off, red hemp was tied around the Soft Sky ribbon.
And that’s all there is to it!
