old fashioned christmas cheer

Safeway is the inspiration for this card.  Well, actually,  a set of bowls I purchased from the sale shelf in the seasonal area in the Safeway store is the inspiration for this.  The sticker label on the sets of tableware was chocolate brown with 2 tone moss green swirls and white writing on it.  Quite lovely for something so practical.  Originally this card was Moss layered on Cocoa… but the poinsettia was going to be a perfect match with Bravo Burgundy so that changed.

Supplies:  Baroque background, Tags on Board stamp set from Holiday Mini, Bravo Burgundy, Mellow Moss and Vanilla cardstock, BB and MM and Cranberry Crisp inks.  Theater originals ribbon, burgundy narrow grosgrain and Antique Brass HodgePodgeHardware.  The Pretties flower was colored with the Cranberry Crisp ink since it was lighter and redder than the burgundy ink- and the bling in the center is from the Pretties kit too.

I have been absent from the SCS challenges for some time and miss it terribly.  I vowed to play today, even though I’m not a big fan of layouts of this sort.  To me, the stuff on the card needs to touch and relate, so this was definitely a challenge.  Since I had all the scraps left over from my Bitty Book project, I decided to make a card to go with it using the sketch.  Not my favorite card ever, but i do like the jump rings on the “dog tags”!

Supplies:  Ruby Red & Chocolate Chip textured CS, Park Buddies papers and adhesive die cuts from SEI, jump rings (Michaels or Joanns jewelery dept), 1 1/4″ hole punch.
