Stamp-a-ma-Jig tip

2008-01-23_0502.jpg

Here is a tip in case you hadn’t figured this out already.  Maybe I’m just catching on to something you all already know!  However, in case you don’t, I’m about to make the StampAMaJig much more efficient for you!

Using the wonderful acetate from my post long ago, I decided to make my alpha set a little more user friendly (this one in particular because it looks so great overlapping and colored).  Without the SAMJ, it’s a gamble on whether you get the letters stamped right.  However, stamping a letter on the SAMJ plastic, then again on the card for every letter is daunting.  So MAKE PERMANENT GUIDES to keep in your stamp set’s box!  Ready to go everytime!  Use black stazon and it’ll stay there forever.

2008-01-23_0503.jpg  Some of the letters perform double duty- “n” is the “u”, “b” is the “p”, etc.  I just wrote with a sharpie a reminder of what letter to use when looking for one of those.

For this particular alpabet, the strips of Acetate are 1.5″ x 2.75″.  Worked like a charm!

PS/ If you purchase anything in that horrid thick plastic packaging, and it’s flat, such as Autumn Leaves acrylic stamps, you can also REUSE that plastic for this!  It’s thicker and bumps up to the SAMJ nicely.   I somehow seemed to have acquired several AL acrylic sets (omg! traitorous!) and just used a box cutter to cut out a large rectangle, then my paper trimmer to make them into nicely sized, straight edged rectangles.  Wonderful You now has it’s own permanent SAMJ guide.
