How your local 9-1-1 center really makes decisions…

When that emergency calls comes in, your local 911 dispatchers are ready to help you!  We rely heavily on a relatively low-tech tool to help us make decisions FAST.  It will never fail us as it’s completely impervious to network failures, power failures, earthquakes and floods.

Here it is, folks.  The magic 911 8-ball.

I’m sorry for the picture quality.  My Razr camera phone is pretty lame.

As you can see, the answers it provides come directly from our administrators here at the department.  Gassy, unreadable, vacillating, vague and keeps us guessing.

Please link to my blog with your creation – i wanna see you use your beloved pretty papers!!  And of course, you can combine my challenge with any of the SCS or GreatSwapsGirls challenges, as well as other Blogger Challenges, such as Beate’s or Kristina’s.

somethins gotta be done…

about Sundays.

I’m getting a complex.  My shift is Sun-Weds, 7am-5pm.  On my “Monday”, which is Sunday, I like to take my break and get groceries to keep at work for breakfast and lunches, and some Chai concentrate and milk in case I’m running too late for Starbuck’s.  No big whoop.  20 minutes max, unless I stop for Starbuck’s or gas.

Sunday 3/16   – I take my break late- around 3pm.  Within 10 minutes of my leaving, we have an officer involved shooting.  My 2 coworkers have a hectic 20 minutes and by the time I come back… it’s calm in the room, just busy.  (officer was okay, bad guy wasn’t)

Sunday 4/6 – I’m off work, coming home from that trip to Reno and my alleged half sister knocks on my door.

Sunday 4/13 – I take the 9-1-1 call from the wife of our retired sergeant, reporting his suicide.

Sunday 4/20 – I didn’t take my break and nothing happens!  Whew!

Sunday 4/27 – I finally feel okay taking my break again on Sunday, and leave for the grocery store.  My partners get a structure fire.  Again, chaos for 10 minutes or so, then after all is handled and under control, I stroll in with my sandwich and milk.

They are beginning to get suspicious, I think.  Better lay low for awhile.

and you thought “ya right she’ll stamp!”

I rewarded myself yesterday- after cleaning the house, doing all the laundry possible and paying bills, I spent the afternoon in the lab.  Jumping off at the Great Swaps Girls first week of challenges!!

And you thought I’d flake again! HAH!

Here is my submission for the first GSGC01 (greatswapsgirls color challenge).  Anyone can play these challenges!!!  Just link the location of your pic to the comment area on the GreatSwapsGirls blog.  The colors are So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Regal Rose- lovely!!  I decided to add black to it…. and used Baroque Motifs and Always stamp sets.

The next challenge was a featured stamper and Jackie P aka StrappyStamper was the lucky GreatSwapsGirl to be featured.  She has an awesome, clean and fun style so it was hard to pick a card of hers to case.  But finally I settled on this beauty.  I changed the colors to the SCS Color Challenge this week, Celery, Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip.  I added some piercing and some dimension with punches and a Soft Subtles button.  I also used a greeting from “Stem Sayings” as the stem.  So the sets are Pick a Petal and Stem Sayings. I also used 1 1/4″ and 1″ circle punches.  My friend, Nanette got one of these cards today for her birthday when she came by this morning.

I’m not done yet…. i’m still working on blog banners, scrapbook pages and some just for fun cards.  Today, however, is a nice day and we’ll be planting our garden!!  Have a great Friday!!

d;)

News you can use….

First, I just have to say that since this little group of talented stampers published our group’s Great Swaps Girls home page on blogger, we’ve hit the ground running!  We have a team of blog managers for it, and they are adding weekly challenges.  Monday we had a color challenge and today is a Featured Stamper- StrappyStamper, also known as Jackie Pedro.  Anyone can participate in these challenges and upload them to SCS or your own blog and link it to our GSG blog with a comment.  We have a KEYWORD!  That means we’ve hit it BIG TIME!!  (oh ya, it’s GSG–??)

My dream of world domination is almost complete.  The Convention will be the final phase and the stampin’ world SHALL BE OURS!  Watch out Shelli. Watch out Daven & Tracy.

Secondly, Stampin’ Up! now accepts customer credit cards DIRECTLY!  So, if you come to one of my classes and fall in love with EVERYTHING i show you, then you can buy whatever your credit limit will allow!

You can DO YOUR PART TO SUPPORT OUR FLAGGING ECONOMY!

heh heh…

And last but not least,  IT’S MY FRIDAY!  And am stampin’ motivated and scrappin’ motivated, and I have been working on blog banners so I expect some show and tell soon.  Okay Lauren?? hee hee!
