To all the mommies out there! It was a very peaceful Sunday (anyone in public safety knows the word QUIET is verboten – that’s just asking for all H-E-doublehockeysticks to break loose) so I was able to relax and take comfort in the fact that another Sunday passed by without tragedy. We were actually able to joke a little about the Sunday curse in briefing. Not TOO much joking, as that would jinx it. Fate would think we’re being cocky or something. Just a little to relieve the nagging feeling of “what’s next?”.
Funny, tho… i think it just left our town and went to another. Keith called me at work around 4pm to say that a woman fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a neighbor’s parked car, continued up onto the sidewalk and landed in my next door neighbor’s flower bed. A few feet more and she would have center punched the power pole in front of our house. No one was hurt, except my neighbors front headlight and my other neighbors geranium.
That makes 3 different occasions when our neighbor’s cars have been crunched by drivers on our street- one neighbor was the lucky recipient of two of those crashes. None of them got hurt, and I don’t know if the offending drivers got hurt. Chances are if they were drunk, they were fine. WHY IS THAT?!
Anyway. I am under the gun to perform (and yet, i’m blogging) and get my hostess club project done as well as the swaps that go with it. Not to mention 2 swaps tomorrow night (i’m a month behind so i have to do TWO different freaking cards x’s 15!! argh!).
So here’s a little preview of the Maya Road Flip Calendar we’ll be doing at the Hostess club Tues night.
This is a Birthday/Anniversary perpetual calendar… I’m using the Maya Road flip calendar because I really think it’s nicer than the SU one- which bores me! I want something cute on the desk that makes you WANT to flip thru and see who I need to make cards for. (This is really so I can keep up with the ever growing Great Swaps Girls too- since I’ve been VERY BAD and not sent birthday raks to anyone this year).

Now, I’m using some retired versions of paper also , but my hostess club knows I’m all about using our stash and not “selling”. And I’m sharing all my favorite stuff too- Felt Fusion Flowers, Jumbo Eyelets, Brads, Die Cut blooms and even.. my HODGEPODGE. I’ll post all the pics of each month on Flickr and link it. Maybe even as a slideshow!!
There is something I am finding out about this flip calendar. It’s too heavy to stand up when all the pages are altered. I’m thinking that if you take on this project, trace the tabbed chipboard pages onto regular cardstock and cut out. Then use the cardstock as pages instead of the chipboard. It’s too late for my hostess club, but not too late for you to save yourself!!
