Hey all you WORD GEEKS….

Are you a wordy person?  Did you enjoy all the spelling tests in school?  Are you an avid reader and get the meaning of the words you read just on instinct?  Or, even if you look up the words… at least you investigate and add them to your brain file.   Words are so much fun!!  I love to figure out the roots, where they originate, or how certain terms came to be.  OH, THE FUN IT IS!!!

So, if you’re weird like that,  go to www.freerice.com -  you can play for HOURS, and for each word you get the definition right, they donate rice to help end hunger.   For those of you who aren’t so wordy, it’s okay to pull up www.merriam-webster.com if you want to play too…

I have been a reader since my first Dr. Seuss.  I subscribe to the word of the day.  In elementary school, when we had vocabulary tests I would use the words and sentences to write a story.  (seriously!).  After a 20 year diversion into Law Enforcement, I realized I made a mistake with my major and am back in school to get my English degree.  Duh.  Anyway, a co-worker referred me to the site this morning and it brought back all the word stories I have.  Last one- I’ll never forget the time 15+ years ago, when a police captain put out a memo asking us to cut down on our “exuberant” overtime.   Overtime is appreciated, of course, but I hadn’t actually seen anyone being very exuberant about it.  Of course, there was a lot of EXORBITANT overtime.

I still giggle about that…

Go play and feed some hungry peoplez….

fun with fotos…

So, I was messing around with a great little photo template that turns your pics into old fashioned style bordered photos, complete with curled corners and glossy paper reflections.  Here is a 2 page layout (8.5 x 11 size) that I did learning to use the product.  The product is “Bent Bunch #18″ by Penny Springman of Sweet Shoppe Designs.    I love how my page turned out- even though there’s no actual title or any serious embellishments.  I wanted it to look like i’m spreading my photos around the table, writing little notes on my rolodex files (an interesting way to organize… might think about that).  I have a tag paperclipped to a list.

Products used: Background paper and tag- Elemental Earth by AndreaBurns Designs; Rolodex cards from the Jubliant kit by Gina Cabrera of Digital Design Essentials; Paperclip is Basically Neutral by Sara Amarie; and the Bent Bunch photo masks mentioned above.

In other news… our Fearless Leader, Becky Carafa, is the Great Swaps Girls Featured Stamper for this week.  I am in the process of casing her, and using the SCS color combo as well- but ran into a roadblock.  I hope to have the case done later tonight.

Happy Stampin’! and Scrappin’!

You heard it here first… maybe…

Stampin’ Up! is announcing a new product line today- 12 noon Mountain time (11am for us Pacific timers).  I’m preparing this post for immediate broadcast as soon as I get it from SCS.  You should see the thread chatter on the SU side of SCS.  Imagine a few hundred SU demos on the EDGE of their seat wondering, guessing, waging and arguing over what this new product will be.

In an earlier post, I speculated that it will be Wall Words- Uppercase Living style.  There was a glitch in the SU site’s ordering system that allowed a demo to order an “interior accents application tool” for $1.95.  After she mentioned this find on the thread, thousands of demos rushed over and began looking for this “interior accents application tool”, but SU had already fixed the glitch.

Some suggest that this was a way for SU to bluff us… that they are tricking us on purpose and watching our fast moving chatter and giggling out loud.  Wouldn’t that be really mean of  SU??

Anyway.  I stand by my guess of Uppercase Living style home accents.  I am still crossing my fingers for digital scrapbooking kits.  And there’s a whole camp of demos praying for Cricut cartridges and embossing machine folders.

18 minutes now…..

I’ll go ahead and post and edit this for the REVEAL! Please Stand By…..

Here it is!  Home Decor- Wall Accents.

You heard it here first, ladies!  (maybe).
