with Facebook, anyway?
I am not sure why I’m there. There are people on there that throw snowballs at me, or kidnap me… or want me to plant a tree in a virtual green space. I joined up because Keith did- and only because he had to for a work related thing (well, union related thing) and they haven’t even used it – they are still just emailing info! And so I’ll get the occasional “so and so wants to be your friend” on my cellphone. Two nights ago while shopping at Target- Keith had my cellphone. He saw a text that said “so and so from Cleveland, OH wants to be your friend”. He was all… “Hmmm…Denise doesn’t know anyone in Ohio… ” SO HE DENIED THE REQUEST! Um… honey? I do TOO know people from Ohio. Lots in fact. And from Virginia, Washington, Kansas, Chile… jeez. Now they must think i’m a total bitch!!
How are people finding the time for this stuff? I know for a fact that several snowballers/tree planters/kidnappers are also Splitcoasters, and on design teams for stamp companies such as Unity, My Favorite Things and the like. Not to mention, they are also mothers, shoppers, work full time and basically post like madwomen in all the places mentioned. They also CREATE LIKE MADWOMEN and always have great projects on their blogs. I CAN’T EVEN GET MY FREAKIN’ CHRISTMAS CARDS DONE! I’d like whatever clock they’re using please. Oh… wait. I get it. Their houses are disasters and their kids are starving… right? :D
In other news, Keith goes in for surgery this Monday morning. His broken shoulder has never healed. At all. The ortho-doc thought that in time it would knit back together but it hasn’t. So now we get to go in 8 months later for the fun of surgery. Can you believe he backpacked all thru Europe with a broken collarbone? He’s a freakin’ stud. Until Tuesday when he comes home anyway. Then you know what that’ll look like…. “Honey? Can i have some soup? Can you fluff my pillow? Can you rub my back? Can you come when i ring the bell and do whatever i bid you to do?”
I do plan on getting my Christmas baking done while he recuperates. And painting my office/craft space… finally. I’m STILL WAITING for my outlets to be installed at my craft counter. Hence, no completed craft space pictures yet. However, Rhonda (my former sister-wife who used to live in our granny unit until she bought her own house less than a mile away) and I went to Ikea last Tuesday and helped save the economy. My office is getting closer to perfection!
The bookcase under the window is the exact width of the window. Originally i wanted a tall bookcase with glass doors, but the one i wanted was 1″ too wide and then we saw this bookcase! Get OUT! It’s from the Markor line and Rhonda ended up purchasing the same line, but bookcases i wanted as well as the media stand. She hasn’t attempted to put it together yet.
Oh, another funny thing… and i wish i had a picture…. she picked me up at 0830 hrs that morning and we were wearing THE EXACT SAME OUTFIT. Black V-Neck Sweaters, dark blue jeans, blk shoes and a white down vest. Our purses were even similar (she had a Coach, mine 9-West, but both were black patterned cloth trimmed in black leather and silver). Since we met in another town, there was no changing clothes for either of us. OMG!
We spent the entire day at Ikea. We ate 2 meals there. We gave some serious thought to our purchases. We loaded her sister’s Nissan Pathfinder to the extreme. We bought cinnamon rolls and coffee for the car ride home. And we single-handedly saved California from bankruptcy. I sincerely hope Arnold Schwarzenegger sends us a Christmas card for our efforts.
So that’s what I’ve been doing instead of crafting. Figuring out Facebook, shopping at Ikea with my twin/sister-wife and prepping for the impending surgery. Oh, and i am done with Christmas shopping… yay! So stand by for next week’s baking and stories about my indentured servitude. Hey, Keith will be fine and i got time off for family sick at Christmas time, who’s complainin’?
