Hostess club meets for the last time for a while tomorrow night.  It’s been a year (starting out every other month but filled in to every month when new people joined in) and it’s been a lot of fun.  I’ll miss the group and hope to have a crop night or project night every couple of months just to keep in touch.   I’ll miss you guys!!!!

Card 2:  Wonderful You set, and SAB sentiment set (omg, i can’t remember!), Kraft, Naturals White and Old Olive cardstock, Really Rust eyelets, natural hemp and the Sm Tag Punch.  Reinkers used were Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, Tango Tangerine & More Mustard.

Valentines Day project

Okay, this is old news to my Hostess Club, but i realized i hadn’t posted these pictures yet.  I’m not even sure Target still has the mailboxes anymore!! But if you are still looking for a Valentine’s Day project, maybe these will inspire you!

loveyoumuchbundle1Products used:  Stampin’ Ups! Love You Much Bundle,  Always stamp set,  Kraft, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White cardstock, Note sized envelopes, White & Riding Hood Red Taffeta ribbon, Build a Brad, 1/2″ circle punch, 1″ circle and Scallop Punch, Felt Fusion Flowers II, Aquapainters with Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette inks, Chocolate Chip marker.  We used sticky strip to adhere the DSP to the mailbox.

In Other news, we saw Coraline yesterday – it was a trip!!  I really liked it (and it was a little scary at times!) but Keith didn’t.  However, he did like the special effects- and that’s all that matters because that’s what our cousin worked on.  I tried to get a picture of the credits but my camera wouldn’t cooperate, so instead, i got a picture of the sign over the door and the cinema manager came over and started hassling me!! OMG!!  But it was worth the $15.00.  Well, $23 if you count the popcorn and rootbeer!!

Coraline Opens Friday!

coraline1

Hey everyone!!  I just wanted to remind you to go see this movie!  My cousin Jason worked on it- doing a lot of the 3D filming.   We are going tomorrow afternoon.  My cousin says that they are hoping the movie makes 10mil the first weekend, so they remain employed and the sequel can be made.  SO DO YOUR PART TO KEEP AMERICA EMPLOYED- GO SEE CORALINE (but get your movie candy at Walmart for less!).

If you go see it (and i know you will), come back here and let me know how you liked it!! d;)

digi-scrapping my Project 365

So, some of you may have noticed my second blog, Geekgirls Project 365.  I’ve been doing the photo a day thing and have been LOVING it!  It really makes you look at things different.  Trying to find the beauty in everyday things, or the humor, or the “feel” of the place is something I’ve always tried to do with my pictures and this is just thing to make it a habit.  I’m on day 34 and I think the habit is formed!

At the beginning of the project, I was thinking I’d just make a shutterfly book w/out any fancy frills- just a page for each photo of the day.  I’d break the book down into 4 books since the max per book is 80 pages.  It would be an 8×8.  Well.  I’ve kinda changed my mind because 1.  these 2 pages took me at the most, 20 min, and 2. I want to incorporate the journaling I’ve been doing on the blog.  I can’t wait to see how the book turns out!
