What I offer today is my own stream of consciousness that has been bouncing around in my head for the the last few months. However, in an attempt to be neat about it, I’ve made them into a numbered list.
1. It’s August 18th and a chilly 76 degrees. It has been drippy foggy every morning this summer, warms up to (if we’re lucky) 80 degrees for a few hours then plunges right back down to parka weather at night. I have been sleeping with my mattress warmer on. RIDICULOUS. I should have stayed in Kauai.
2. On the other hand, the chilly mornings make for AWESOME running weather.
3. I have a Big Shot- finally. Ordered it to keep my SU Demoship alive for at least another 3 months. Had it 2 months before I opened the box to use it. But now that I have, OMG! It’s awesome!!! Made some simple little thank you cards in a snap. (hmm…shoulda taken a pic of those…)
4. I’ve come to discover that I’m a One Track Girl. Those who can bake for fun, photograph it, scrap about it and make fancy invitations to send out to friends to share the baked goods, all the while keeping up at the gym, keep family happy and the house clean all in one day have my utmost admiration. I can’t do that. At. All.
5. True Blood has been freaking awesome this season.
6. Because of my one track mind that goes off the rails without warning, (see above) this blog has frequently changed it’s focus in the last 3 years as I’ve moved through my obsessions interests. Here is the sequence of topics I’ve forced upon you (in this order, and may i say THANK YOU for sticking with me?)
STAMPING MANIA-> REPORTING ON THE EVIL RACCOON MILITIA-> PHOTOGRAPHY-> PROJECT 365-> POLICE EXPOSE’ REPORTING -> MASTERING PHOTOSHOP-> DIGI-SCRAPPING-> RUNNING.
7. To be honest, I don’t know why I even started with stamping! I am not a card person! But it took hold and consumed my life for 5 years, cost me untold millions and put 20 lbs on me because I gave up my gym time to stamp. Yet, I can’t bear the thought of giving up my Stampin’ Up! social circles (virtual and IRL).
8. I’m glad that my new obsession has banished those horrid 20 lbs. Hope my next obsession isn’t cupcakes.
9. I’m conflicted about where to go with this blog now- do I drag you all along again on newest obsession? DO YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW MY PACE AND CALORIES BURNED ON A DAILY BASIS? I don’t. Well, I do, but you don’t. Or do you? Since I’m currently not scrapping, not photo-taking, not card-making and not hunting raccoons, and don’t wish to turn this into solely a running blog – I’m toying with the idea of a Healdsburg/Sonoma County Gossip/Event/Food/Wine/Beer/Photography/Running/Misc Crafting blog. This post might be the kick off- see #11 and #12.
10. I realized today I’d like to learn metal or silver-smithing – make my own stamped jewelry.
11. Speaking of Healdsburg, I finally saw the Bollywood film that was filmed on my street and town- My Name Is Khan. Pretty much Forrest Gump of India. Fairly cheesy. And the male lead went “full retard” instead of Asperger’s. But Shahrukh Kahn and Kajol were both beautiful to watch and it was sooo cool to see my town on the big screen. I wrote about this Bollywood visit last year on my photography blog here, here and here as well.
12. Speaking of fame and Healdsburg Gossip… a real, live, famous, ROCK STAR has moved into town, 3 blocks away from me! I won’t name him, but I have had his music on my iTunes for a while now. His house is on the main street we walk on a daily basis. If he has any raging parties, I’m going to crash it in search of Billie Joe. I bet they’re friends. Maybe I should make some “Welcome to the Neighborhood Cookies”?
13. If this rock star neighbor was Billie Joe Armstrong, wouldn’t you think you’ve heard my screams by now? ;) God, i wish.
