Holey Moley!

Oh my werd!  My blog has over 30,000 hits! 

 You know what that means?  Time for sum gud ol’ blog candy! Post today (3/12/08) before Midnite PST, and I’ll draw a random comment.   The winner will get a little sumtin’ sumtin’ in the mail! 

(sadly, I don’t have a pic to tempt you, but trust me, it’ll be ”comment-worthy” -  I’m going to the Scrapbook Expo in Pleasanton this Friday and expos are CHOCK-FULL of awesome new products!  I saved lots of money for this little venture!)

In other news,

I’ve been tagged by Stephanie, one of the gals in my swap group challenging me to list 7 more random things about me.    Pretty soon, i’ll have absolutely no secrets!  You’ll tire of me and unsubscribe or quit vistiting, and then i will never be able to give away blog candy for monumental site hits…   sigh.  However, I liked her random things – never heard of Vera Bradley until her tag and now there’s yet another website i will throw money at.

  1. Coke or Pepsi- COKE, but i really like Orange soda or Root Beer better.  I rarely drink soda and consider it “dessert” or “medicine” when i’m sick. (come on, you know the carbonation feels good on yucky throats and tummies, right?)
  2. I love trail hiking and LOVE trail running over any type of running.  It’s almost like “playing outside”! 
  3. I love to decorate tables - i raid the clearance racks at Pier 1, Target or Cost Plus World Market for new ideas for table pieces and cannot resist any unusual plates, bowls, glasses, etc. 
  4. I am currently reading Stacy Jillian’s new book Photo Freedom and love her ideas.
  5. Racoons don’t scare me, i’ll fight them anytime.
  6. Desperately waiting for the next tv season to start.
  7. I get up at a ridiculous 5:15 am Sun-Weds to leave for work by 6:10, which gives just enough time to hit Starbucks and make it to work at 6:45 am.

This is another She’s All That card, using the same layout I posted last week, just changing out the DSP and color combo. However, I wanted to add some Bling- thus- Chunky Glitter, also from the Occasions Mini.  The cake was a little too small for the chunky glitter so it looks like a blob (kinda like the cakes i’m making IRL - i’ve been taking a cake decorating class!).

1. Stamping Style:  All over the place… i have no idea!
2. Inspiration:  SCS for sure, then my swap group, Starbucks, Pottery Barn, Fabrics, Ads, anything!

3. Color: Love Chocolates from Mocha to Dark ganache…. 

4. Work Space:  A small, purple room in our granny unit

5. Perfect day: Everytime i go to write this, it changes from waking up to snow covered mountains- to sunny carribean waves rolling up to the shore where my french doors are open to the sand, to a large breakfast buffet and a day of sightseeing in the mediterranean to shopping all day in NYC as well as just watching movies and stamping.  If i win the lotto- this all will be my perfect day!

6. First Job:  Salesclerk at a baby store

7. Wildest dream:  Working for Simple Scrapbooking Magazine in the layout department (setting up the magazine itself!), then writing or designing projects for the magazine
8. Ink:  Whatever it takes!  Mainly SU!

9. Family:  Husband Keith… 2 dogs, a cat, a friend who lives in the granny unit and of course mom, MIL, FIL, Sis and BIL, SIL’s and another BIL, 2 neices and a nephew, 4 more dogs, 2 more cats and i’ll just stop there….

10. Beverage:  Right now- Grande NF No Water Extra Hot Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks… (i’m really cold right now and want a warm & tasty beverage)

11. Biggest Challenge:  Procrastination… but i seem to work best under pressure… go figure.

Speaking of pressure- I need to mail my Occasions Swaps soon and this morning, I woke up to my She’s All That card idea – I’m off to the lab to see if it works!  Enjoy your Monday!!!

Tag! Catch Up Day!

I have been Tagged 2 times this week – 1st tag- Brought to you courtesy of Jan Hunnicut.  She tagged me with the “7 unusual things about you” tag.  Apparently, she’s one of those gals who likes to know she’s not alone when it comes to being unusual… hee hee! You can see her eccentricites here.  I thrive on being unusual.  Unfortunately, I am limited to posting only 7 unusual things. 

  1. I bite my fingernails and don’t really care how they look…. however my toenails MUST be pedicured, painted and pretty, even in the dead of winter.  I’d like to have pretty fingernails if it didn’t cost me $ every two weeks and an hour or so of my time. 
  2. The book Bad Cat: 244 Not-So-Pretty Kitties And Cats Gone Bad sends me & my sister into hysterics every time we get together to look at it.
  3. I can’t stand Oprah (I KNOW! DON’T HATE ME!)
  4. I can raise one eyebrow.
  5. I actually like the History & Science channels.
  6. I don’t like ALL Chocolate desserts such as Death by Chocolate, Chocolate Lava cake or chocolate ice cream.  Tres Leches Cake, or Tiramisu with just a hint of chocolate are my favs.
  7. On scrapbooking weekends (next one in just a month!), my average number of completed pages is about 10.  It takes me a day to finish 3 (2page layouts).  I am ridiculously slow.  Everyone else gets 20-40 (2pg) layouts done.  I wonder if that will change now that I’m going digital…

5 things I was doing 10 years ago:

1. Was living in another town

2. Working at my same job.
3. Enjoying porch parties with our neighbors down the street -wine, chocolate or other desserts or cheese and lots of laughing.
4. Was 20 lbs lighter
5. At the gym a lot

5 things on my to-do list today:
1. Visit my granny in Willits
2. Help Rhonda repair some drywall in the cottage kitchen.
3. Shop for a new pillow for my achy-breaky hubby
4. Shop for some new perfume for me
5. Deliver the new SU catalog and Foo Fighter tickets to my sister in law

5 Snacks I enjoy:
1. Chevy’s Chips & Salsa 

2. Wine & Cheese
3. M&M- plain – can’t resist them…
4. Is a Bloody Mary a snack? It comes with vegetables… (this is on my list too!)
5. Holiday Gingerbread from Starbucks

5 Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
1. Travel everywhere
2. Set up my sister/sis in laws and my mom with new homes in great locations- and pay off my in-law’s house
3. Gut my entire house except the kitchen (it’s sooo not feng shui) and re-structure the living space.  My house is soo weird!
4. Hire some help – chef, housekeeper, trainer (Krystie’s- but i like that idea!)
5. Buy a flat in Munich.

4. Campus Police Student Patrol officer- made it to Lieutenant! (funnest job ever!)
5. Police Dispatcher (most challenging and interesting job!)
