Tres Wally  Well Hello Fellow Stampers!

Today, I tried something new and since it actually worked and was relatively simple, I thought I’d make it a tutorial.  The technique is Reverse Image or Mirror Image.  Sometimes when you have a stamp (in this case, Wally, The Attack Cat from Stampin’ Up!’s Here, Kitty Kitty set)  you need the image to face the other direction.   I used the reverse image to change Wally’s direction on the top and bottom portion of the card.

All supplies Stampin’ UP!:  Here, Kitty Kitty Stamp set, So Saffron Textured Cardstock, Soft Sky Designer Series Paper, Whisper White and Very Vanilla cs.  Inks- More Mustard, So Saffron, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Blue Bayou and Basic Brown. Buttons from Earth Elements, Rich Regals and Golden Hemp (retired).  The Wally Cats are on dimensionals.

The card above was for today’s sketch challenge (SC133 and BOY! It was a challenge!).  I don’t particularly like blocks on cards that do not intersect/layer or otherwise relate to each other!  Call me weird…  This card took some time and effort and I had a few failed attempts at color combos, choosing the right patterned papers… but I must say that I do like the way this turned out.  My neice shares the same birthday as me (remember i turn 27 on friday?! [wink wink]) and so this will be her birthday card.

So.  To reverse the image, you need the following supplies:

reverse-stamping-tutorial-1.jpg  Wax Paper, Ink, Brayer w/Rubber roller, your stamp and your cardstock you want the image on.

reverse-stamping-tutorial-2.jpg Cut a piece of wax paper off and cut it to fit your image, but also keeping in mind you need to be able to handle it easily- leave space for fingers to grasp it!  Ink up your image with your Classic ink (Stazon will dry too fast and not transfer well) and stamp on the wax paper.

reverse-stamping-tutorial-4.jpg  Okay, this pic isn’t very clear, but what you do next is carefully turn the wax paper image over and place it lightly on the cardstock, where you want the image.  You can see that Wally the Attack Cat is now jumping the other direction!  Now, run the brayer one time across image.

reverse-stamping-tutorial-5.jpg  The image will have transferred, however this one is slightly blurry- I recommend practicing a few times to get the feel of it.  I would have re-done it for the tutorial but the challenge card took me over an hour and Keith was waiting to eat dinner.

Jeesh.  Sometimes you gotta wonder what is so important about eating dinner anyway??
